Food Products Labeling, Regulatory Compliance and Product Claims

Canadian Food Labeling

New Food Labeling Regulation is in effect. Transition Period Ends – December 14, 2021.

On December 14, 2016, amendments to nutrition labelling, list of ingredients and food colour requirements of the Food and Drug Regulations came into force. As per the CFIA, food companies have a 5-year transition period to meet the new labelling requirements, during which they must comply with either the former or the new requirements. As per the timeline, all prepackaged food products being manufactured in Canada or imported must comply with the new labelling requirements, by December 14, 2021.

Food Vision Inc’s pool of experts is dedicated to customer care in bringing their labels to CFIA’s new labeling regulation.
